RIN-TIN-TIN'S DEATH

SON AS UNDERSTUDY CELEBRITIES AT FUNERAL Dog lovers all the world over will mourn the death of Rin-Tin-Tin, the famous Alsatian dog, -which, in the days of the silent film, thrilled millions of picturegoers by his wonderful sagacity and intelligence. Rln-Tin-Tin died at the ripe old age of 14 after a career probably unequalled by any other dog. During the war, he saw service with the Germans around Metz and was " captured " by Lieutenant Duncan, of the American Air Force, who took him back to California and trained him for the screen. He starred in many films, including " While London Sleeps," " The Clash of the Wolves," and " The Night Cry." in the last-named picture he had to fight and kill a gigantic vulture on the edge of a ~ , With the advent of the talking film he suffered a temporary eclipse, but he was on the eve of a "come-back" when he died. He had been signed on in a leading role in a talking film entitled " Ihe Pride of the Legion." His son, Rin-Tin-Tin, junior, has been trained as his understudy and will now take over the role. Rin-Tin-Tin was buried on the estate of his owneis and a large contingent of Hollywood celebrities attended the funeral.
