ON THE SANDHILLS

Dear Miss Morton,- —Early '•■ lie morning my winters and I pet, out for the sandhills. We travelled along th* road for about two miles then rut 11 cross a paddock, it being far shorter. On arriving there we were* surprised to eee a great hill of sand light, in front of us. It was very ateep and slippery but after some time we arrived at the top of it, by digging our feet and hands into the sand. Reaching the top we looked about us and were greatly excited to see the open sea. with its great, waves lashing the rocks. Running down the other fiido of the hill we tripped gaily out to the water. What fun we had making slides and castles, but we were rather sorry we romped about so much when we saw the hill we hud to climb before going home. Wo rested for about ten minutes then started up the hill. We were rather tired when we arrived home but we ehall never forget, that day on the fandhills.—From your loving friend, Jqsie Philp, Ota.ua, .Waiuku.
