Indications are for variable winds at first but light to moderate north-easterly to northerly soon prevailing and freshening gradually. Seas smooth to moderate. In the eastern Tas-. man Sea, moderate but freshening northerly winds and moderate seas. The weather will be fair to fine and mild at first, but haze and cloud increasing and later showers developing in the far north and in western and southern districts of the South Island.
