AVONDALE CLUB'S YEAR The report presented at the annual meeting of the Avondale Lawn Tennis Club showed that for the past eeason members' subscriptions had come in well, there being no defaulters. The report stated that the club was in the happy position of starting th» new season with assets exceeding £SO and no liabilities. There would be an extra court this season. Mr. R. B. Hardy, president of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, addressed the meeting, and it was unanimously decided to affiliate with th*> parent body. Two delegates, Messrs. G. Orrell and N. Robertson, were appointed to attend thy next meeting. Twenty new members were elected. The following officers were fleeted: —Patron, Mr. P. Adams; president. Mr. G. Orrell: hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. N. Robertson: hon. auditor, Mr. A. J. Graham; club captain. Mr. G. Orrell: match committee, Misses Potter, Wright and Mr. G. Orrell; ground committee, Messrs. C. Moore, Green and M. Moore: general coin/ mittee. Misses Potter. Wright, Porritt, Green, Mvers, Messrs. M. Moore, C. Moore, Ritchie, Green and Meeks. * The opening of the season was fixed for October 15. y . THE ' OTOROHANGA CLUB [from our own- correspondent] OTOROHANGA. Thursday The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Otorohanga Tennis Club:—-Patron, Mr. P. F, Skinner; president, Mr. J. F. Trapski: vice-presidents. Messrs. A. Fleming, R. Varley Hudson and Miss Kerr; secretary and treasurer. Mr. R. I). Ward: ground committee. Messrs Fleming. E. Pilkington and Garvey; match committee. Mn. Trapski and Messrs. Pilkington and Ward; genera] committee, the president, vice-presidents, secretary, Mrs. Miller. Misses Scarborough and E. Quinlan, Messrs. Sheahan. T. Johnson, II Rhodes, Garvey and Pilkington. The annual report and balance-sheet showed that the club had had a very successful season. It was the club's intention to arrange for a coach to visit Otorohanga. The opening day was fixed for October 8.
