RICHMOND CRUISING CLUB A YEAR OF PROGRESS A year of progress was recorded in tho report of the Richmond Cruising Club Presented at the annual meeting last evening. The commodore, Mr. T. L. Thompson, presided over a record attendance. Tho report stated that the club's racing programme was conducted under the sweepstake system, and proved very popular with boatowners. Tho annual regatta was very successful, no fewer than 54 boats taking part. fhe statement of accounts showed that the club was in a 60und financial position, having a credit balance in the bank of, ill", including £44 in the building fund. J lie assets are valued at £367, and there are no liabilities. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman congratulated members in having a home of their own free of debt. When the clubhouse was | opened 19 years ago there were no liabili- | ties, and although tho club had just added i another storey, this had also been paid i for and there was etill a credit balance of I over t(';0 in the bank. | The president. Mr. J. Donald, said the i club was one . of the most progressive ] j in Auckland, and by looking after the in- ! terosfs of tho younger yachtsmen it would i still go ahead. Mr. 1. Dennes was elected a life member of the club in recognition of his services. A silver cup for competition in class V was presented by Mr. G. F. Bclvie.
