EXIT FROM CARLAW PARK
AID TO TRAM PASSENGERS NEW OVERBRIDGE AUTHORISED To facilitate the loading of passengers into train cars after football matches and sports fixtures at Carlaw Park, tho Transport Board decided at a meeting yesterday to construct an over-bridge from the park to a right-of-way leading into Stanley Street, where a track for cars has been laid. Tho manager, Mr. A. E. Ford, reported that the erection of the bridge would bo beneficial to tho loading of passengers and would avoid holding waiting cars on I'arnell Rise. An arrangement had been made with Donaghy and Company, Limited, to erect the bridge over a onestorcy factory, tho annual rental to bo 10s. The estimated cost of the bridge would be £l3O, and additional expenses £ls. As tho Rugby League authorities had agreed to contribute £SO, the cost to the board was estimated at £95. Tho structure would be built with old rails as girders, the remainder being of timber and galvanised iron. After the work had been authorised tho chairman, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, said tho bridge would bo put in hand whenever it was convenient.
