INJURED MAN'S ORDEAL
CARRIED OVER ROUGH TRACK FIVE MILES ON STRETCHER [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] WIHTIANGA, Tuesday . When a Kuaotunu relief worker, Mr. John Tanner, was working at. the face of ii cliff removing rock a portion of tho cliff fell and injured liiin severely. He was taken five miles over a rough track on an improvised stretcher from \\ aitaia to Kuaotunu, thence to Whitianga.
Later tho injured man was rushed to the Coroniandcl Hospital. The extent of his injuries had not be ascertained.
