GREAT SOUTH ROAD TRAMS
CONGESTION AT TERMINUS A suggestion that the tram car terminus in Great South Road should be extended for 100 ft. in Wairaki Road, so that standing tram cars would be clear of the main road, was received by the Transport % Board yesterday from the One Tree Hill Council. The council stated that complaints had been received that traffic congestion existed when tramcars were standing at the terminus* When vehicles were parked at the east side of the road and a tram was at terminus it was impossible for motor-buses to pass. The council's traffic inspector suggested that the congestion could l>e avoided if a single track were constructed for 100 ft. into Wairaki . i'oad, where trams could stand. The niatier was referred to the board-In-committee.
