Mr. Kayo Don, who has many motoring records to his credit, was born at Dublin in 1894. when his parents, whoso home was at Wolverhampton, were paying a visit to Ireland. lie "was educated at Wolverhampton Grammar School. On this he made long rides, but to him distance was of less account than speed. Before he left school he had won many bicycle contests, and he continued his successful racing after securing a post "with a tyre manufacturing firm. In 1912 he changed to the motor-cycle and continued his speed work, showing even then tho gift that marked his later career—remarkably quick thought and action in moments of danger when travelling at high speed. On the outbreak of the war ho joined the Royal Air Force, in which he served throughout the campaign. On being demobilised in 1919 Mr. Don took to the motor-car and was soon a prominent figure on the Brooklands racing track, making many records. Of late Mr. Don has devoted his main activities to ' motor-boat racing. He created a world's record in Miss England 11. on Lake Garda, Italy, on July 9, 1931, of 110.25 miles an hour.
