AUSTRALIAN EGGS SHIPMENTS SELL OUT (Received September 18. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 17 Two recent shipments of eggs from Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia have been sold at prices about 3s higher than those which prevailed at the beginning of the month, and actually about 3d above Belgians. Importers are highly satisfied with the quality, condition and package. The only complaint is regarding weights. _ These were obviously correct at the time of shipment, but owing to evaporation during tho voyage in some cases 171b. cases, when reweighed, touched only 16glb. Importers therefore suggest that a little extra weight should be given so that the casesshall contain tho full weight when they are sold here. Prospects for the season are regarded as favourable, provided that high quality is maintained, though Australians will meet with competition from large supplies of South African eggs, the first of which are to arrive next week.
