DEATH IN NEW GUINEA
FORMER THAMES RESIDENT MINING FIELD ACCIDENT [BT TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] THAMES, Thursday News was received by cable yesterday of the death of Mr. Martin Mclnteer at Edie Creek goldfields, New Guinea. Particulars are meagre, but it is understood that death was the result of an accident when Mr. Mclnteer was working near a dredge. Mr. Mclnlecr, who was the youngest son of the late Mr. James Mclnteer, a Thames mining pioneer, and a brother of Mrs. D. Twohill, left Thames two years ago under contract to work as manager of one of the mining ventures on the New Guinea fields. He leaves a widow, who resides at Thames, and four children.
