EXPRESS STRIKES COW
DERAILMENT OF ENGINE TRAIN DELAYED .AT TIMARU » ' [by telegraph—OWN CORRESPONDENT] OAMARU, Monday The engine on the south express was derailed at Pareora, seven miles south of Timaru, on Sunday night, as a result of striking a cow. The carriages did not leave the line.
A relief engine was despatched from Timaru and after a delay of 1£ hours the express resumed its journey.
