CHURCH ARMY MOVEMENT
VISIT OF ENGLISH OFFICER At the invitation of Archbishop Averilt, a visit will be paid to' New Zealand by Captain W. Davey, of the Church Army, an evangelical organisation allied to th»Church of England. Captain Davey, who will represent the founder of the' movement, Prebendary Wilson Carlile, will'arrive with Captain J. S. Cowland, chief executive officer ol the army in Australia, from Sydney by the Monterey to-day. During their visit, to Auckland, Captain. H. Squires, of the Church Army in Napier, will conduct a .mission afc the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. - " The movement was commenced toward the end of last century by Prebendary Carlile, who is now over 80 years of age, and now possesses a staff of over 1000 men and women, while there are over 60 different sections interested in various types of mission and social work.
