OTTAWA CONFERENCE ISSUE SPECIAU AIR MAIL ENVELOPE
Three Canadian stamps, and a special Ottawa Conference envelope, which should prove of interest to collectors, were received by a Wellington resident by a recent mail. Additional interest is afforded by the fact that the-letter was carried part of the way by aeroplane. The envelope bears in one corner a device showing Britannia, the British Lion, the Canadian Houses of Parliament where the conference was held, and a map of Eastern Canada, while at the top a typical mail aeroplane is shown in flight'. ' The envelope is stamped " Special Flight, via Ottawa—Bradore Bay." ' " The stamps include one for three cents,' a special Ottawa Conference issue, and' two ordinary five cents Canadian air mail stamps, surcharged with the words " Ottawa Conference, 1932." The figufe five in each of the lower corners has been cancelled, and replaced by the figure six. The whole cover is particularly "clean," the post-mark being clear but not so heavy as to disfigure the stamps.
