CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH Auckland.—The weather continued fine during the week-end, but yesterday morning and afternoon a boisterous wind wa* blowing from the west and the sky wa» overcast and threatening. In the evening the wind moderated and changed to the north. After falling slowly since Friday night, the barometer registered 30.05 in. last night. .Wellington.—A strong northerly wind on Saturday freshened to gale force during the night and early yesterday morning was, still blowing in terrific gusits. As the wind abated rain began to :iall heavily. The downpour continued throughout the day. During the morning the wind changed to the south, and there was an appreciable drop in the temperature. Christchurch.—Saturday was fine, and a warm north-west wind was blowing. The barometer, which was rising last evening, registered 30.07 in. Dunedin.—Fine but cloudy conditions prevailed on Saturday, A light north-west breeze was blowing, and the atmosphere was warm and pleasant. The maximum temperature was 60 degrees.
