BUCKLAND ROAD BUSES
Sir,— Being a resident of Mountain Road for 50 years, may I make a suggestion re Buckland Road buses. Why could not the Passenger Transport Company Limited, give one month s trial and run their Papatoctoe-City (via Mangero and Onehunga) bus service, via Mountain Road, Gillies Avenue, and Buckland Road, and join the Great South Road at Royal Oak? This would entail no extra expense, but add considerably to then income. It seems so unfair that the resi--1 dents of all these district? should have to suffer when daily there aro dozens of buses that could so easily take this run passing unnecessarily through Newmarket, which already has an excellent tram service. I am thinking particularly of an old pioneer lady who has been denied her one joy of "life by being unable to attend church, as she cannot walk any distance; and also of our schoolboy s and girls on wet mornings. Justice.
