THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE STEADY. WEEK-END BUSINESS Steady business was recorded at the single call on the Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday morning. Firm ofiers were reinstated for Government loans and 1938 per cent stock was dealt in unaltered at £95 10s. The easier movement continued in Hank of New Zealaods, business opening Is lower at 46s 3d. Some of the ground lost, however, was recovered in two subsequent transactions at 46s 6d. Iftquiry was fairly steady for other issues, with buyers greatly predominating. Support for insurance was unchanged. In loan and agency New Zealand Guarantee Corporations were accorded firmer support and ordinaries were taken 4£d dearer at 6s. Movements were of a minor nature in other sections. Buyers of Colonial Sugars returned to the market offering £44, to which holders quoted 2s 6d lower at £44 7s 6d. A gain of 6d was registered in Robinson Ice, which found acceptance at 17s 6d, at which price more wore available. The mining division was firm. Golden Points eased a shade in dealing at B£d and Mahakipawas wore also secured fractionally cheaper at 4^d.
