CONFERENCE WITH REFEREES

The Wellington Association made application for a return fixture with Auckland at lust evening's meeting of tho control board of tho Auckland Football Association, and suggested September 10 ns a suitable date. It wn« dacided to accept the fixture, but to suggest September 17 as the date for tho contest.

The Now Zealand Council wrote stating that following a request from the minor division of tho association, it had been decided to donate two guineas toward the cost of sending tho - Auckland .-primary schools' representative team to North Auckland on August 27. Tho control board expressed appreciation of tho action and also decided to donate two guineas. The Poverty Bay Association applied through tho New Zealand Council for a match with an Auckland representative or club team at Gisborno. It was decided to defer consideration of tho matter until the Poverty Buy Association notified some definite terms for tho match. Tho Glen lunes Club applied for permission to play a match against tho Huntly Thistle Club at St. Ileliers on September 17. It was decided to grant permission for the .match to take place providing it is held on September 21, 8b the Auckland-Wellington representative fixture had been set down for September 17. Permission was granted for a match to bo played between teams representing the T'amaroa and H.M.S. Dunedin at Devonport on Saturday, commencing at, 1.30 o'clock. The North and South Auckland Associai lions wroto agreeing to fixtures with Auck- ' land teams at Auckland. It was decided to suggest September 3 and 2-1 as respective dales for the matches. Tho danger of clubs not making suro of tho age of players competing under their control was emphasised when tho minor division committee notified that it had decided to suspend a member of the North Shoro sixth grade team for a false declaration of his age on his registration; also the North Shore team would lose all points gained while this player was competing, which would result in it forfeiting the championship honours A conference was held with members of (he Referees' Association when tho necessity for stricter control over players who indulge in 'excessive talking and questioning of decisions was raised.
