TO-DAY'S LEAGUE MATCH

ENGLAND AND AUCKLAND FAST FOOTBALL EXPECTED STRONG VISITING THIRTEEN The English Rugby League team, will play its fourth match of the tour against Auckland at Carlaw Park to-day and fast and exciting football is anticipated. It will occasion po surprise should tho local players make a better showing against liie visitors than the New Zealand team in the first test. Tho Aucklanders have indulged in extensive training under Mr. W. Ivelly, and there should be no doubt as to their fitness for the match. Providing tho Auckland forwards gain a fair share of the ball, which seems very doubtful owing to England's superior weight, tho backs are expected to make a better combination than the New Zealand rearguard last Saturday. The inclusion of Hassan, Davidson and Mcchan has strengthened the attack, while the two first-named are also good defensive players. A great burden is placed on the Auckland forwards, who will be at a disadvantage in weight, but should prove' faster and more clever than the New Zealand pack. The English team will field the same rearguard as that which played in the first test. All the forwards who played in this match are included in those for final selection with the exception of Lowe, the hooker. White is the other hooker in the side and lie is likely to play.
