Mr. B. V. Bryaat, of Hamilton, who: has been ill, left for Sydney yesterday for a three weeks' health recuperating holiday. He was accompanied by Mrs. Bryant. Mr. Cyril F. Seaward, for several years sales manager, and latterly manager, of the Canadian Knight and Whippet Motor Company, Limited, lias been appointed assistant-manager of tho Auckland branch of Dominion Motors, Limited. Dr. J. E. Caughey, a son of the late Mr. A. C. Caughey, who left Auckland last year to continue his medical studies in London, has been admitted a member of the Royal College of Physicians, according to private advice received in Auckland yesterday. Mr. G. C. MacLaurin, jlt.A., and Mr. D. P. Costello, M.A., winners of NewZealand University post-graduate scholarships in arts, left for Sydney by the Maunganui yesterday, en route to England. Both are former students of tha Auckland Grammar School and the Auckland University College. They will pursue their studies at Cambridge, Mr. MacLaurin in mathematics, and Mr. Costello in classics. The Rev. Richard Gil'hooly, an old boy of Holy Cross College, Mosginl, and at present a student of the Irish College, Rome, has been successful in obtaining his Doctorate of Divinity, according to a cablegram received in Duntdin. This success is a notable one, as the Rev. Dr. Gilhooly is only 21 years of age. He is still too young for ordination, but by « special dispensation of tho Popn he is to bo raised to the priesthood early next year. ,
