MOVEMENT IN AMERIiCA FAMOUS AIRMAN PRESIDES NEW YORK, July 27 Rear-Admiral Byrd has been elected chairman pro tem of the National Economy League, which has been formed to lead a popular movement for the reduction of Government expenses. ■ The famonii airman-explorer promptly announced that, he would postpone his noxt Antarctic expedition, "his simple duty" requiring him to call o5 the expedition for a year.
