CONDEMNED TO DEATH
M. DOUMER'S ASSASSIN INSANITY PLEA FAILS PARIS, July 27 The jury at the trial of the Russian Gorguloff for the murder of the late President Doumer, after a retirement of 25 minutes, returned a verdict of premeditated murder. The death sentence was passed on Gorguloff, who was led away shouting unintelligibly. In his address to the jury the prosecutor had described Gorguloff as a depraved bigamist and latter-day Rasputin. Counsel for the defence had contended that accused was absolutely insane.
