GERMAN ELECTION
HITLER'S CHANCES JEWISH VOTE LOST [FEROCITY OF CAMPAIGN MUTUAL VILIFICATION NAZIS AND OPPONENTS / By Association—Copyright (Received July 28, 5.45 p.m.) LONDON. July 27 Messages, from Germany say it is understood that the Jewish vote at the German general election on Sunday will go to the Catholic Centre Party, which the Jews regard as the only one capable, by numbers and influences, of keeping the antiSemitism of the Hitlerites (Nazis) in check. Correspondents appear to be unanimous in the opinion that Herr Hitler will not have an absolute majority.
The election campaign is being conducted with extreme ferocity. In posters, cartoons and newspapers• the Nazis vilify their opponents. The Communists and Socialists are retorting in such a way as to suggest that the Nazis are semibestial creatures who spend their time in terrorising the people, and committing murders. Herr Hitler is touring the country by aeroplane and everywhere is addressing monster audiences.
