SOCIETY OF HEALTH
An enjoyable At Homo was held by the People's Health Society of Auckland in the Fabian Club rooms on Wednesday evening, the president, Mr. A. J. Stratford, presiding, and Mrs. M. M. Dreavei acting as hostess. An instructive lecture ' . from a dietetic point of view, on milk, was given by Dr. Garfield Stewart. Mr. A. J. Stallworthy, M.P., spoke on "Health and the Community," nnd Mr. li. C. Cutten, S.M., stressed the necessity foi Auckland to acquire its own health sanatorium, nnd the importance of sun-healing under propor medical supervision in such a home. Mr. G. 0. Munns and Mr. W. Bissett spoke of the work of the society. Following the speeches, a very enjoyable programme was presented by Mrs. Reuben O'Brien, Mrs. IT. T. King, Miss Fox-Rogers and Mr. Arthur Wright, whe snng; Mrs. Irene Terry, who gave elo cutionary items; Mr. Mncky, violin solos: and Mr. T. King, humorous numbers The accompanists were Miss May Beres ford, Mrs. W. McKinnon, Miss Orbel and Miss Clarice Laurie. _ Supper was served nnder the supervision of Mrs. S Komp, J.P., and at the conclusion of th< evening 2Q new members were enrolled
