BIRKENHEAD RESERVES
BEAUTIFYING ACTIVITIES Improvements arc being made in several of the reserves at Birkenhead, men being employed under No. 5 scheme. Hundreds of native trees and ferns have been planted on tlio hillside track leading from Harbour View Road to the wharf. The frontage of the John G. Kay Park, near Verrail's Corner, at Birkdale, is to lie planted in shrubs. With tho object of forming a sports field, a go6d deal of clearing has been dope at the Birkenhead end of the Little Shoal Bay Reserve.
