STOCK SALES RATES AT PUKEKOIIE [from oun own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Thursday Prices generally showed a rising tendency at the stock sale at Pukekohe to-day, conducted by Alfred Buckland and Sons, Limitod. There was a fair yarding of dairy cattle, but the quality was not up to the usual standard. Best dairy cows and heifers, close to profit, made from £G to £7 10s; good sorts. £4 10s to £5 15s; backward, £2 10s to £3 15s. There was an averago yarding of beef and values were decidedly firmer. Extra heavy primo young cows ami heifers brought £5 10s to £G; lighter sorts, £4 LOs to £5 ss; good killulilo cows, £3 to £i ss; old and boner cows, to £2 10s; extra heavy prime .steers, £8 to £8 10s; lighter prime, £G 12s Gd to £7 15s; 2-year to 3-year-old store steers, £2 to £3 10s. There was a fair yarding of fat pigs. Bidding was steady and lato rates ruled. Heavy baconers sold from £2 to £2 ss; light and medium, £1 13s to £1 18s; heavy porkers, £1 8a to £1 12s; light and medium, £1 2s to £1 7s. A keen demand was experienced for stores, which were yarded in large numbers, and for which high prices ruled. DAIRY CATTLE AT FRANKTON The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agoncy Company, Limited, Bnmilton, reports that nt the weekly dairy salo at Franliton yards yesterday bidding for good quality early cattlo, particularly heifers, was brisk and prioes fully up to late rates were realised. The demand was not so keen for tho poorer quality animals. Ltd.. reports that at tho Hikutaia sale on Wednesday only a medium yarding of beef and pigs came forward and a fair yarding of dairy cattle. Lato rateß were maintained for all classes.
