MORTGAGORS' RELIEF
ADJUSTMENT COMMISSIONS CRITICISM OF PERSONNEL Comment upon the selection of personnel of the adjustment commissions to act in the four main centres under the Mortgagors and Tenants' Relief Act, was voiced at a meeting of the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce yesterday. It was decided to send a letter to the Minister of Finance stating that as two of the members of the commission having jurisdiction in Auckland City were farmers and the third was in business in a township 45 miles from the city, they could hardly be regarded as. qualified to decide the merits of cases in which purely city properties were concerned. Special city commissions for the four main centres were suggested, as it was felt that commissioners should have experience and knowledge, of conditions and values in their own centra.
