DEPLETION OWING TO STRIKE; I i [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT ] CHRISTCntTRCH. Thursday As a result, of tho recent strike and a reduction of membership through the formation of tho Tramway Traffic Employees' Association and dismissals from the service, the Christchurch Tramway Employees' Union lias been compelled to dispense with the services of a permanent secretary. At the annual meeting of the union it was decided that, in .view of tho reduced membership and tho resultant depletion of tho finances, the services of the secretary could no longer be retained.
