HEIDELBERG'S DEBTS SUSPENSION OF PAYMENTS / LONDON. July 20 Heidelberg, one of the most famous cities -in Germany, has notified its creditors that it cannot continuo mtorest and redemption payments in respect of loans totalling £2,250,000, says the Frankfurt correspondent of the Times. The city is famous for its university, the third oldest in tho German States, and also for its castle, which towers 3Goft. above the town. In the castle vaults is a noted tun capable of holding 800 hogsheads of liquor. The university library contains nearly 600,000 volumes and many rare manu■cripta.
