YACHTING
ORAKEI MODEL CLUB The annual distribution of prizes of the Ornkei Basin Model Yacht Clnb took placo at the residences of Mr. A. R. Bovins. There was an attendance of over 30 members and friends, and a most enjoyable ovening was spent. < Tho most important prizes were won by the following:—Club championship pennant, Aorangi (G. Bovins); club points cup,' Silver Mist (R. Grace); runner-up for points cup, Aorangi. Special cups and 'medals were won by tho followingS'oa. Spray (G. Broun), Silver Wings (R. Bevins), Starlight (K. McDonald), Victory (G. Broun), Silver Star (R. Dennis), AVizard (D. Gisby), Ariki (J. Dolores), Rangi (I>. Dickßon)._ Starlight (N. Beetson), Aorangi (G. Bevinß), lona and Venus (T. Siebert). Tho past season of tho club, tho report stated, pro\*eiJ a great success, in spite of tlio fact that the number of dinghies was at tjines insufficient to cope with all entries. At present tho club was raising funds for tho purchase of further dinghies, and with these on hand the prospects for next season were very bright. Increased membership was expected. Tho opening day was fixed for October *4.
