TRAPPED BY FLAMES
OLD MAN BURNED TO DEATH Edward Duffy, aged 85 years, was burned to death at bis home at Tannymorel, near Warwick, Queensland, on July 19. He had been confined to his bed for some time, and was unable to escape when his house caught fire. Mrs. Duffy and an old-age pensioner named Williams were milking cows when they noticed the flames. Two neighbours rushed to the burning building and strived to gain entrance, but flames and smoke drove them back.
