NEW GUARD PRISONERS
SENTENCES TO STAND It was officially announced last week 011 behalf of the New South Wales Department that fho New Guard prisoners, who were convicted of having assaulted Mr. J. S. Garden, would not bo released from gaol before the completion of their sentences of three months' imprisonment. The Minister of Justice, Mr. Martin, had carefully considered a petition for the release of the prisoners and had decided to make no recommendation to the Governor,
