WEDDING.
BAILEY—OLIVER. A wedding of considerable interest to both Auckland and Hamilton was celebrated at St. Stephen's Church, Tamahere, on Tuesday morning, when Miss Kathleen Capel Oliver, daughter of Mrs. Oliver and the late Mr. W. A. Oliver, of Wartle, Matangi, was married to Mr. Jack Snelling Bailey, of Tirau, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Bailey, of Victoria Avenue, Remuera. The Rev. Turner officiated. The brido, who entered the church with her uncle, Mr. Grenville Rutherfurd, of Tanpiri, wore a frock of parchment Chantilly lace, fashioned on long, slim-fitting lines, with a sowl neckline, and full skirt inlet with godets of parchment georgette and lace. *With the frock was worn a small coat of parchment georgette, trimmed with white fur. Her tulle veil was held by a small spray of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of Iceland poppies and daisies. In attendance as * bridesmaids were Miss Alice Bailey, of Auckland, sister of the bridegroom, Miss Vida Rutherford, of Masterton, cousin of the bride, and Miss Trix Monckton, of Hamilton. Their frocks were fashioned alike in cherry red souple satin, with tight-fitting bodices of ivory satin. Smart cherry red bowler hats trimmed with a feather and small coats of cherry ring velvet, fashioned with wide sleeves, were worn, and each carried a small muff of white fur. Mr. Ron Yates, of Auckland, was best man, and Mr. Trevor Rutherford, of Masterton, and Mr. Brian Oliver were groomsmen. A reception was afterwards held at Wartle, Mrs. Oliver receiving her guests in a frock of black crepe de chine with touches of white and a black and white hat. She carried a posy of violets. Mrs. R. 11. Bailey, mother of the groom, was in a deep blue ensemble and black hat. Among the guests were:—Mrs. J. Rutherfurd (Wanganui), Mr. and Mrs 'R. A.
