PAKURANGA HUNT.
SPORT AT PAPATOETOE. The Pakuranga Hunt Club held ft very enjoyable meet yesterday, at Beachlea Downs, Papatoetoe, the residence of Mr. Owen Self. Good ■weather was experienced; ' but the going was a trifle The scent. .= which was good at the beginning, failed at ■the finish. After the chase the members of the club were entertained v to afternoon tea, by Mr. Self at the homestead. Very good sport was obtained, but although three hares "-were started all were lost. The first hare was put up in a.ecoria pit and took the followers for an invieorat-". ing ride round the property, the hare e'ventu- . all escaping in some rough ground. The next hare led the hunt for a large circle round the properties of Mr. Eric Nolan. Mr.. Self and Mr. "VV. Massey. It was lost in some barred country. After a good long run the third hare eluded pursuit in a swarao. Followers included the huntsman, Mr. P. H. Smith, on Harkaway: the whin, on Loom; Mr. J. Adams, on Fashion, Mr. Owen Self, on Thelma; Mr. Wills McLaughlin, on Comedy; Mr. A. Watkins, on Mercury: Mr. J. C. Sidebottom, on Safe Conveyance; - Mr. Alec "Walker, on a roan; Mr. M. on a bay; Mr. W. Martin, on Cayenne; Mr* G. Whyllie, on MarauV: and Mr. W. Mullins, on St. Lucas. The master of the hunt. Mr. H. Bullock-Webster, was, prevented from attending through indisposition. Lady riders included Mrs. P. H, Smith, on Molly; Mrs. W. McLaughlin, on Bridget: Mrs. A. G-.. Quartley. on Gay Laddie: vMiss E. Martin, on Vixen; Miss B." Sidebottom, on Paddy; Miss J. Cox, on Flash: Miss Shirley Watkins. on Peer Bosa; Mis* Jean We3ton, on Vanity: Miss P. Weston, on Diana; and Miss Una Bennett, on Dixi- 1 ana.
