PRICES AT FRANKTON.

IMPROVED DEMAND FOR BEEF.

HAMILTON, Tuesday.

A slight increase in the prices for both ox and cow beef was recorded at the weekly Frankton stock Bale to-day, the smaller yarding being quitted under fairly spirited competition. Values for vealers also advanced slightly, while store cows maintained full late rates. Recent quotations were barely maintained for an average entry of fat ewea and wethers. Prices for fat lambs showed little variation. A small offering of fat pigs, comprising mostly porkers, realised late rates, while stores and weaners met with a ready sale.

The auctioneers quote as follows: New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company.
