GATHERING IN AUSTRALIA*
NO AUCKLAND REPRESENTATION. The opinion that it was undesirable to send a delegate to tho Australian and New Zealand Tramways Conference, to be held in Australia this year, was - expressed, by members of the Transport Board at a meeting yesterday. The chairman, - Mr; J. A. C. Allum, said the president of the conference had been informed that the board did not intend to send delegates on account of the present financial Repression, and he had then suggested that one delegate should be .sent to represent the tramway undertakings in the four main centres. It was decided to bring the offer before the other organisations, at the same time making it clear that the board did not desire to send a delegate.
