OPENING OF SYNOD.

ARCHDEACON SIMKIN'S SERMON,

HAMILTON, Monday.

The Waikato Diocesan Synod _ waj opened in St. Peter's Cathedral, Hamilton, before a large congregation this evening* Evensong was conducted by the lit. Rev* C. A. Cherringtpn, Bishop of Waikato, and the preacher of the synod sermon was Archdeacon W. J. Simkin, of Auckland. _ The preacher said in New Zealand tin day the greatest opportunity was presented to the Church to seek the Kingdom of God.
