ROTORUA.
The literary circle of the Rotorua Women's Club hpld a reading dav evening at the residence* of Mrs. C. Rowley, in Whaka Road. Hie play chosen was " Bird in .Hand, ' by John Drinkwater. The parts were taken by Mrs. Rowley, Mrs. A. C. Randerson, Mrs. Ford, Mrs. Fraer, Mrs. Stewart, Miss E. Sharpe, Miss D. Hamilton, Miss E. Robinson, and Miss Hichens.
The monthly meeting of the Rotorua branch of the League of Mothers was held in the Methodist School Hall on Friday. .Mrs. H. Bertram presided ovor a very good attendance. A most interesting address was given by Mrs. A. C. I'anderson on " Child Psychology, ' which was followed by several recitations by Miss Ilichen* A competition lipid during the afternoon was won by Mrs. D M. l**r>rcJ. The hostesses were Mcstlam^s W. A. McLean, Mansfield, Edge and Orsler.
Mr. and Mrs. George Marshall, of Seddon Street, are spending a holiday in Whakatarie and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Bridger. Mr. and Mrs. Xicholas of Arawa Street, are at present on a visit to Mount Maunganui, Tauranga. Mr. and Mrs. T. Habone and family, of Arapuni, who have been spending a few weeks in Rotorua, will visit Auckland before returning to their home. «Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Ashton are spending a holiday at Mount Mauuganui, 'lauranga.
Mrs. and Miss Mcßeth, of Epsom, who have been visiting Rotorua, left on Friday for Te Awamutu. Sister Meelian of the staff of King George V. Hospital, has received notice of her transfer to Waipukurau. She will leave Rotorua at the end of the month.
