WOODEN PROPELLER USED ON A VENTURESOME VOYAGE FROM GREAT BARRIER ISLAND. The fishing launch Poketo, which made a voyage from Great Barrier Island to Auckland last week driven by an improvised wooden propeller. The usual metal screw had fallen off in a storm and the owner of the launch was forced to carve a propeller from a pohutukawa log.
