HERD-TESTING RESULTS.

At the annual meeting of the Gpotlki Herd-testing Association it was unanimously decided to link up with the Bay of Plenty Association, provided that suitable arrangements can be made and the services of the testing-officer retained. Following are the chief statistics for the 1931 32 season:—Total butter-fat produced, 466,2491b.; total days in milk, 471,077; total cows, 19OT; total herds, 31; average for all cows, 19CT7 cows 247 days in milk, 244.491b. fat. The highest herd average, for 47 cows, 252 days in milk, was 351.081b. fat. The highest cow in the group was Mr. Beattie's Dot, with 4951 b. fat.
The average for the association during its seven years of existence has increased each vear as follows: —l92s-26, 198.561b.; 1926-27, 220.741b. ; 1927-28, 227.551b.; 1928-29, 229.361b.; 1929-30. 231.381b.; 1930-31, 236.831b.; 1931-32, 244.491b. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. W. N. Howe; committee, Messrs. J. L. Holman, S. Fisher, S. Lambert, J. G. Murray, J. B. Armstrong, W. \oung, W. S. Scott, J. Kemp and C. Gault; auditor, Mr. J. T. Merry.
