BONUS ON DEER SKINS.
A PROFITABLE OFFER. The announcement by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. A. Hamilton, that a Government bonus of Is 4d a pound would bo paid on deer skins, has aroused interest; among deer shooters in Canterbury, and there is every prospect of parties being formed with the object of taking full advantage of the offer. Details of the department's proposal am lacking, and the Canterbury Acclimatisation Society has written to the Minister requesting a full outline of the offer, and nlso a statement regarding the standard required in skins. Up to June 18 u bonus of Is 6d was paid for tails, and tho new offer of Is 4d a pound for skins promises a substantial return to deer Stalkers.
