HERALD'S SPEGIAL FORECAST.

FAIR TO FINE. The following weather forecast for hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied by Mr. IT. M. Vincent last evening:—The high barometric pressure system is still located over (ho Dominion, but is decreasing in intensity. A slight westerly depression is passing in tho south, while a tropical disturbance is crossing the northern Tasman Sea. Indications favour mainly fair to fine weather in most districts during the week-end, although -with cloudy to overcast conditions at times in western and southern districts. A few scattered showers are likely in tho latter areas. Variable and moderate breezes, south-westerly prevailing, and veering by west to east, then freshening. Seas smooth to moderate. Local outlook: Mainly fair to fine, with milder temperatures. Cloudy at times and an occasional shower is likely. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—An anti-cvclone still stretches over tho Tasman Sea and New Zealand, while slight low-pressure waves are passing along its southern edge. Indications are for variable winds north of Now Plymouth and Napier, but moderate to strong westerlies prevailing generally. Seas rough about Foveaux Strait; elsewhere moderate. In tho eastern Tasman Sea, west to south-west winds prevailing, moderate in the northern portion and fresh to strong in the southern portion. Seas moderate. The weather will bo mainly fair but cloudy at times in western districts, with scattered showers. Temperatures becoming gradually milder. RAINFALL RECORD.
