THE ALLMAND.
BACK TO OLD TIMES. At St. Jf.mcs' Palace, on the very site where Quenn Charlotte gave her Birth Night balls nearly 200 years ago, hostesses discussed the way in which old times are to be revived at Queen Charlotte's Birthday Ball. The danc?s that were popular at those balls, the gavotte, ihinuet, and allmand (a cross between the other two dances), are to be given by young men and women in Pompadour wigs and knee breeches. It must he very many years since the allmand w?s seen in a ball-room.
