AT SUNSET.
Sunset, and the blazing sky sending a golden light across the placid reaches of the river. The mountains m the background bathed in the fast-gathering shadow. In the foreground tall ferntrees. some outlined against the sky. Jo the left a c ° untr y road, along which a wanderer is returning homeward. Above a flock of birds sweeping toward the gaten of the sun. Ihe watcher turns once more to th= lone bush track; the glow dies from the west, and night enfolds the world in starry mantle. —By Lorna Finlnyson, M.8.G.. Flat 1, 4i'!2, Manukau Rd.. Epsom.
