BULL FIGHT IN STREET.
'TOREADOR" CAR CHASE,
A Canadian bullock, after charging for about a mile through some of the busiest streets of Manchester a few weeks ago, joined battle with slaughtermen and polico officers.
A wild scene ensued before the animal was overpowered, tied to some railings, and killed with a humane destructor. Six or seven people, including women, were knocked down during the beast's terrifying career, but none was seriously injured. The bullock broke loose from tho abattoirs and was eventually cornered on a piece of spare land, having been chased by slaughtermen in a car. On three sides the bullock was hemmed in by walls, and it made fierce charges at the men attempting to overpower it. Mr. Tom Sheldon, one of the slaughtermen, was tossed several yards before the beast was captured.
