PAKURANGA HUNT.
MEET AT PUHINUI
Tho Pakuranga Hunt Club met yesterday at Puhmui, on tho property of Mr. W. McLaughlin, a fair number of riders being present. Tho meet was originally arranged to take place at Opaheke, but in view of the unfavourable weather, Mrs. McLaughlin invited tho hunt to Puhinui. After tho chase tho members wero entertained at tho homestead by Mr. and Mrs. McTjaughlm. Three hares were put up, and they took the hounds for fairly good runs, all *ho sport taking place on the one property. J ho class of country encountered was very muc.i the' sa mo throughout, many elo "e walls having to bo negotiated. Jwo of tho hares were lost owinK to the failure of the scent. Followers included tho master of tho hunt Mr. H. Bullock-Webster, on lall.vIIo; the huntsman, Mr. l'- H- Smith, on Harkaway; Mr. Wills McLjiUclilin, on Comedy: Captain Brooks, on Mushoor; Mr. J Sidcbot torn, on Safe Conveyance; Mr. Arthur Wntkms. on Mercury; .Mr. Gordon Hamilton, on Pathfinder; Mr. Owen Self, on Dusky: Mr. J. Short, on a clu-sttut: Mr. Alec Walker, on a bay; Mr. 13. Minims on St Lucas: Mr. M. Johnson, on a, cob; Mr. Len. Bullingham, on Tamaki Boy; Mr. A. Bellingham, on Tomboy; and Mr. George Why!lie, on Marquis. Lady riders included Mrs. McLaughlin, on a bay; Mrs. A. O. Quart ley on Gay Laddie; Mrs. P. H. Smith, on Molly: Mrs. M. Johnson, on a bay; Mrs. Appleby on Srarx • Miss M. Bailey. on Problem: Miss T) "Weston, on Diana: Miss P. Weston, oil Bluo Tiight; Miss Wntkins, on Paddy; Miss E. Martin, on Vixen. A party followed the hunt on foot, a good view being obtained from tho summit of the hill behind the homestead. Among tho spectators wero Lieutenant J. C. ihlworlliy and Mrs. G. C. Veal, from Government House.
