SEASON'S OUTPUT INCREASED

The annual report and balance-sheet of the Maungatapere Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, discloses a successful year's operations. The annual meeting of shareholders of the company will be held on July 18 at Maungatapere.

Tho output for the year ended April 30, 1932, showed that butter manufactured totalled 764 tons, an increase of 119 tons compared with that of tho previous year. The average grade of tho butter manufactured was 93.132 for the shipping season.

The manufacturing account showed advance payments, £58,732, and deferred payment due to suppliers, £8924. The average price (all grades) paid to suppliers per lb. butter-fat, was as follows :—Advance payment, 10.029 d; advance payment with deferred payment added, 11.553 d; advance payment with deferred payment and cost of cream collection added, 11.590 d. Two directors, Messrs. J. Breslin and F J. Smith, retire by rotation and offer themselves for re-election. Mr. R. R. Pringle has been appointed factory manager for the coming season.

COUNTRY STOCK SALES.

VALUES AT FRANKTON. LATE RATES FOR OX BEEF. [from our own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Tuesday. Ox beef was yarded in average numbers and mot with steady competition at the weekly Frnnkton stock sale -to-day. Late rates were fully maintained. Prices for cow beef, of which there was a moderate yarding. receded slightly on last week's quotations, while the values realised for stores showed little variation. The entry of fat sheep included a heavier offering of ewes than were yarded last week. There was a fair demand, prices for wethers and ewes being very firm on recent quotations, while ) •rices for lambs showed an easing tendency. Both fat and store pigs were yarded in small numbers. Porkers and stores were at late rates, but baconers dropped slightly in value. Tho auctioneers quote as follows: G-. W. Tho annual sale of Almadale Jersey cattle wns held by "Wriglit, Stephenson and Company, Limited, at the farm of the vendor, Mr. W. 11. Miers, iiototuup-, today. Leading: breeders from many pnrts of tho North Island, including Wairarapa, Manawatu and Taranaki. and several from the South Island, were present. Purchases were distributed from Kaitaia in the north to Duuedin in tho south. Competition was good, and tho prices realised are considered very satisfactory. Tho nine two-year-old bulls sold averaged over 21gns., 11 yearlings over Signs., and .13 heifers over 26gns. Stud cows sold at up to 20gns. The total proceeds of tho sale amounted to 911gns.
