KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR.
ELDERLY WOMAN HURT. NARROW ESCAPE OF SON. [from our own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Sunday. Severe cuts on tlio head were received by an elderly woman, Mrs. Mabel Elizaboth Stokes, of Durham Street, Ngarua>wahia, who was knocked down by a motor-car, driven by Mr. C. B. Little, of tho Hopuhopu Military Camp, on the Great South Road at Ngaruawahia last evening. The accident occurred near the Ngaruawahia Town Hall when Mrs. Stokes and her three sons were crossing the road. One of the boys, aged about 16, was also knocked down, but was not injured. After receiving medical attention Mrs. Stokes was taken to the Waikato Hospital. Her condition is reported to be satisfactory.
