FUTURE AS PRIVATE HOSPITAL.
"Wickford," tho Princes Street liomo of tlio late Mr. N. Alfred Nathan has now been sold, tho purchasers being the proprietors of Mount Pleasant private hospital. Ib is tho intention of tho newowners to transfer tho hospital to Princes Street about the end of next vear.
This property was offered for salo at auction in April last, but failed to find a buyer at the reserve price fixed on it, (he bidding oil that occasion reaching £BOOO. It is understood that tho price which has now been paid is slightly in excess of £BOOO.
Tho building, which is a fine example of tho English town house, is built of concrete and its three floors contain 30 spacious rooms and offices. It is tho intention of the new owners to carry out extensive alterations to convert the house into an up-to-date hospital capable of accommodating 34 patients. By an arrangement with the trustees of tho estate of the late Mr. Nathan, the new owners will not take possession for another 12 months, as the lease of the present site of Mount Pleasant hospital has 17 inonthii yet to run.
