Tho Cornwall Handicap winner, Sunny Sky, Was responsible for another good performance in winning tho King Georgo Handicap. As a result of heavy, support for True 'Shaft and Manawhenua slio was allowed to start at a good prico and- she always had' the race in hand over tho last furlong, wliere Historic, who* would lfavo returned " double figures to win, mado a great eifort to overtake her.

Silvermino anol Arikira were troublesome at tho post and Arikira' was badiy left.' Imperial Prince, Consent and? Huntingdon were smartest to begin, Huntingdon'landing along tho back from Consent,, Imperial. Prince, Refresher, Sunny ,Sky, Truq : Shaft and Baroscope. Huntingdon and' Consent were still the leaders at the half-mile, whero Sunny Sky had run up third ahead of Refresher, Silvermino, Baroacopo, Imperial Prince, Manawhenua and Chromadyne. Tho field was well bunched entering tho straight and Huntingdon just led from Sunny Sky, with Consent, Silvermine, Hampton Park, True Shaft and Baroscopo following in close order and Manawhenua showing up on the'outside. Once into the straight Sunny Sky mado an effort and alio assumed command at the distance to win by a length from Historic, who caino home 6trongly on tho rails. Shaft, ran a good race and' so did King's Archer, who was closer .a the finish than at any other stng'e. Consent ami Refresher faded out in the last furlong and Manawhenua did not. finish as well as usual after being extremely wido out at tho homo turn. Tradesman' and Baroscopo both performed very creditably.

THE FITZROY HANDICAP.

: SENESCHAL BEATS IMAMINT. The Fitzroy Handicap. was a fine totting race. Lord Val and Seneschal being equal favourites with a alight call over linamint. Lord Val had his chance completely extinguished when he was half-turned round at the start, but Seneschal - and ■ Imamint both ran fine races to fill the dividend places. Lord Val was hopelessly left 'arid Miss Albyn was also, slo v away. Imapiint began smartly and she carried on the running along the back from Booklaw. Holly Holm, Lyrical, Catch 'Em, Seneschal and Ltidy Spy. E'asßing the half-mile. Imamint just led Seneschal, who wa? followed by Lyrical, Booklaw. Holly Holm, Catch 'Em.
